I have a Savinelli second in that same shape and love it. It's not as beautiful as yours, but it is one of my favorites in my rotation. Great score!!

Good on you, Hawke!
I was a long time coming to the dance, but Savs have become one of my favorite burners.
Your new Canadian is gorgeous: shape, grain and coloring.
"Its gonna be hard for the Savie to live up to all these comments!"
Nope. Not one little bit.

Congrats on your new Savinelli, bang for the buck in my opinion they cannot be beat. The first pipe I ever bought was a Savinelli Linea Pui 5 bent Apple and it got me hooked on pipe smoking, I still own it and would never part with it. It smokes as cool and dry as any pipe in my collection and even though it is bigger and heavier than the pipes I buy now, it will always hold a special place in my heart. At the time( 2000 ) It retailed for 155.00 and my buddy who owns a tobacco store gave me 20% off so I thought it was a good deal. What it did for me was it gave me a baseline to compare all future purchases with. If anyone is looking for a great pipe in that price range, they still make that model and in my opinion you cannot go wrong. Amazingly after 14 years the price is still only 158.00. If the stem was not acrylic I would smoke it more often.

I have a number of Savs. My Canadian isn't a Sav, but it is a great design. You have a friend for life in that pipe.

It arrived and Ive smoked it a few times. Not one single complaint! I am not positive as I smoke it only at home and therefore slowly sipping like one should, but it seems to stay cool longer than other pipes. Like maybe the briar wood is more dense or something.
Definitely a special pipe in my collection.

Good move whether you like it or not (but you will). You can easily get your money back and then some if you decided to resell it. Smart buy!

Beautiful pipe and a great buy. I have a Sav Baronet 804EX, $60 new, and it smokes English blends like nobody's business. One of my first pipes and I'll never let it go.

A fine pipe at a great price. I was just smoking my only Canadian last night, an Iwan Ries made by Benton,

and enjoying its commodious bowl and that long shank that seems to mellow the smoke. It's a stately shape,

and I'm thinking of getting another myself. Canadian shape pipes were under-appreciated for a while, but

I think they are coming back into vogue, understandably.

Seems like you have great luck with Savinelli's. They should be great smokers! I have a couple very similiar to your bent Savinelli and it smokes great. I think you'll like the bit also. They are like the p-lip with Petersons except its a rectangle with Savinelli.
