Thanks guys, hopefully it will be reliable this summer. So far, it's only let me down once. The previous owner put on a modern alternator conversion kit with relays for the lights (good thing). He didn't put the ground to the relays on a good spot and the wire warmed enough to partially melt the plastic fuse holder. We were driving on a lonely WV road last September, top down. I looked up, saw the sky full of stars and remarked to Liz how beautiful the sky was. The headlights winked out at that moment. We drove home with a 2 D-cell maglight over the windshield (still had brake lights...). Fixed all the grounds that weekend. I did buy a windcap for my pipes, so who knows, I may give that a shot, with a proper British pipe of course!
