Some threads die, others take off. Forty posts in two days qualifies as "significant interest", I think.
Which makes me feel obliged to mention that Ms. Piersel was recently interviewed in the current (Winter) issue of P&T magazine, and a portion of that interview covered the how and why of her pencil-shanked design. Including how the model ended up with the "Scottie" name (which isn't what you probably think.)

Fair do's, these are wonderful. A very interesting set. Scottie's work seems to jump out at me. I think I remember a very striking and beautiful Canadian that sablebrush acquired once. That too was a thing of beauty.
