The price was $50 plus $10 postage and $5 sales taxes to the dad blasted state gubbermint.

$65 delivered, all tariffs and postage and sales taxes paid.

Just think of all the precious children my tariffs and sales taxes will save, and all the job creators that will get much needed tax cuts!

These are extra large pipes.

They have wonderful grain, no fills, no flaws, no varnish, and they color.

My two Muxaings have by far the best stems of all my pipes, a chewy lucite that duplicates vulcanite and won’t ever oxidize.

Typical Marxman Big Boy Square Panel in the center. Muxaing pipes top and bottom. There are no markings on the Muxaings. In a hundred years they’ll be just nice old briar pipes.

If you’re into carving your own, that would be about $40 delivered.

This is what the Chinese do best. A cheap bauble you only want, don’t actually need, and must be hand finished.

They can buy briar from Europe, ship it to China, make a pipe, and deliver it to Dunnegan Missouri for less than the price of a sit down meal at Appleby’s.

If I could give Muxaing some advice, it would be—

1. Don’t put extra goodies like screens and bit rubbers and such in the box. Filters and the little brush are fine. Your customers will never, ever smoke anything but pipe tobacco in your pipes.

2. Serial each one with a shape number and a year. You want collectors.

3. Use number grade stamps. This was a $65 retail pipe. Stamp it 65. You want customers to want high grades.

4. Duplicate a Marxman box to ship the product. You want your customer to keep the pipe in the sturdy box. It’s free advertising forever, as long as the pipe lasts.

5. Buy the rights to use all the Mastercraft trade names.

6. Algeria is one of the very few communist nations left. Send your briar inspector there. Give him lots of Yuan. Get an exclusive trade agreement. Use a discreet little @ stamp for Algerian briar. We don’t want the other briar customers mad, or think they are getting second class briar. We want the Algerian customers deliriously happy and proud of that tiny stamp.

7. Bore the product just a shade larger. Your pipes are large size and your customers want big chambers.

8. There’s no reason not to recreate Marxman 400s and Big Boys and Super Briars.:)
