I wouldn't retire for $5 million - but $600 million - I couldn't submit the papers fast enough.
Maybe I'd even learn to be a pipemaker and ... what's that? They use share tools you say? . . . eh . . . maybe scratch the pipemaking off the list.
I know what I'd do . . . I'd buy that 7 day Comoy set off Kashmir and then hire a guy just to sit around and deoxidize the stems every day.

Anyone know if the $600m is paid in a lump some or whether the payment is spread out over so many years. I can get it out of the US tax free if it is a lump sum winning, but I may have to pay some US taxes if it comes out as some form of annuity.

I'd just offer him a few million less for the pipes, there's only 6 of them. But definitely do hire someone to maintain those vulcanite stems.

Historically, a lot of cased sets came in sixes not sevens, on the assumption that a gentleman would not smoke on the sabbath (Saturday or Sunday, following your persuasion). As religion fell by the wayside, cased pipe sets came to encompass all the seven days. This six day Comoy set harkens back to this earlier history. I've seen both types in cased Dunhills sets, the six and the seven labeled day sets. The former were missing Sunday.

I'd buy a house in the mountains, a horse for my wife and daughter. A couple of Iron Horses for myself and a nice car or two. Then I would spend my days hunting and fishing on my private lake and reserve while smoking my vast collection of pipes and tobaccos. In my spare time I'd carve pipes and travel the world. I would also invest and set my parents and sisters up.
