50/50 Carter Hall and Lane 1Q mix

Hi guys, Just finished a Bowl of a 50/50 Carter Hall and Lane 1Q mix. Wow from what I've to say it was a really great smoke. Burned to white ash right down to the bottom of the bowl at the first lighting.

It is kind of a bitter and sweet smoke. Had a great nutty taste more like hazelnut, while having a touch of leather and peat. Had also the Carter hall aftertaste between puffs of I hesitate between cloves or anise. Eveything bonded in by a sweet kind of burned caramel from the 1Q

Also had in a far background a kind of Wet yellow grass in the smoke but I had to be really careful to have it.
Really liked that smoke a keeper for me

It is a very good blend. I've blended those two myself! I've blended most OTC tobacco's with Lane 1Q. Carter Hall, Half & Half, Apple, etc.

Carter Hall is the number one base mix for home blenders. Based on what I've seen on the forums, walnut at 20-30% seems to be the favorite.

I smoked my first bowls of Carter Hall tonight. I can see how this might add something to 1Q I am going to have to give this a try. Thank you for the suggestion and report.

Had some of this tonight. I agree with the bitter/sweet description. It left my mouth a little dry, but it was a pretty good smoke.

Good suggestion - I mixed it up this morning and enjoyed it thoroughly. PA will remain my basic mixer, but CH gives a mix a little different taste.

I've got the ingredients. Just don't know if I want to crack open the CH pouch. I'm weakening.
