Hey all. New guy here. New to pipes but already obsessed. Just wanted to show off the new estate pipes I just picked up. I admit that I don't know very much about them other than what it said on the site and that I love the way they look. Anyways any help there would be greatly appreciated. Is there a way to find out what year(s) pipes were made in?
These are the pictures that were on the website as these wont be in the mail until wednsday or thursday. I made the graphic. I'm pretty damn excited to say the least. I think I'll do a video unpacking as well.
The first is a Neils Bro Sanblasted Acorn:

next up a JHW (not sure about who that is exactly) Dublin style smooth freehand with some beautiful plateau it looks like :

Next up a really cool Freehand from a guy name Tim Fuller it looks like. I really like the heft and the general shape on this one. This is the only one I know the year of. it was posted as 2004:

These next two are my favorite as I have found out in the small time I have been smoking that I really am a major fan of the Danish pipemakers. a free hand and a queen egg by Celius:
First up the Celius Zenia Flamegrain Queen Bent Egg. I love the lines and form on this beauty.

and last up, my favorite, the Celius Fantasy Freehand:

Thannks for looking everyone! Let me know ay thoughts about how to date pipes etc as, like I''m sure I mentioned, Im just a noob with a credit card. hahaha
Thanks for having me.

Welcome phishphude! Looks like your off to a very artistic start with your collection. I like more traditional shapes so the first one I really like but love to see all kinds of pipes. Nice layout.

Yeah and you can't tell from that picture but the stem is really cool looking as well from the top. I have a picture of it somewhere.........

Phish, you have some great pipes there to get you rolling along. We're glad to have new people =)
And FYI, I have been staring at that Niels Brothers pipe on smokingpipes.com for a very, very long time. Congratulations to you! And I'm sure my wife is happy that the temptation is now gone for me =) Let me know how it smokes though when you get it!!!

:laughat: Phishphude has PAD!
Welcome aboard!

That is one very nice collection you have started.

I love the grain on the Celius Fantasy Freehand, It'll be very cool if it is a true sitter.
Congratulations and Welcome to the Forums....
Just teasing about the PAD... (Pipe Acquisition Disorder)... Well maybe... :D

Next comes TAD... Tobacco Acquisition Disorder...

They are both incurable conditions.

Yeah I'm not big on large freehands but I do really dig that Niels Bro. That's some fancy starter kit ya got there buddy. Love the grain in the Celius Fantasy, and that T.C. Fuller is some crazy chunk o' wood with very interesting grain. I look forward to the pipe porn that your future PAD binges yield.
Cheers.

AS much as everyone loves the acorn I have an even more astute appreciation for it, thats for sure. The funny thing is that is the one I was on the fence about for the longest time. Now I can't wait to get it. Who am I kidding I am dying to get them all. Its official I have PAD!!!!
I'm also surprised that no one mentioned liking the JHW Freehand Dublin. I thought that was the closest thing to a standard pipe in a freerhand style that has really cool overall lines.

haha! tell her she's welcome! I totally will get back to you soon. Like I said I think I will do an un-boxing video as this will be the first time I've had the pleasure of getting pipes in the mail!
Nice haul! Which one you gonna smoke first?
I've actually been giving this much thought and I think it'll be the Celius Queen Egg followed by the JHW and then the Neils Bro followed by the Fuller and then last but not least the Celius Fantasy
Next comes TAD... Tobacco Acquisition Disorder...

Did you get some baccy to break them in with ???
Unfortunatly I didn't. I am still at the point where I am relying on the local smokers castle to get my tobacco at and, hell, I don't even really know what I am smoking as the ones that I currently have are house blends (though they say they are most akin to English mediums). I also have an oz of Black Night and some blue Mountain Coffee. I am just not sure if those are standard tobaccos or just more house blends like the 'Daves Blend" and the "Scotts blend". Haha. I am such a noob! I will tell you one thing I did try that I didn't like at all and that was straight virginian. It tasted too much like a ciggarette to me.even this Dunhill Flake that my friend gave me in a little tin was too much like that. Any reccomendations? i like the black knight and the English medium style I think.
