I have been taking the comment from Brian Levine (on the radio show rant time) and smoking a blend that I do not immediately like, and trying it for an ounce or so.
The pipe tobacco blend is "Alamosa" by 4noggins, a broken flake of Virginia and Perique. This blend is really starting to become a favorite.
My go-to blends these days are Bayou Morning (C&D), Prairie Wind (4noggins), Three Friars (C&D), and Weybridge, and this is nothing at all like them.
I've been smoking a pipe for less than a year now, so I guess what surprises me, ans old hat to many others.
Just wanted to share.

Good post Zekest. When I find a blend that I'm not immediately enamored of, I take it as a challenge to keep at it and find the right combination of pipe and puffing to find out what it's all about. Part of the fun of pipes.

Whenever I place an order usually I follow thems with my baccy such as VaPers, Burlys, etc. I always throw in a tin or 2oz of bulk of a type I would never order just to give it a try. My last order contained C&Ds Manhattan Afternoon and before that was Low Countrys Santee. You'll never know if you'll like something unless you try it.
