I use two types of canning jars to store my tobacco in, The Ball Jam jars for flakes, I can stand the flakes up in the jars. and for Plug Tobacco and shag cut tobacco I use the Kerr half pint 8.oz jars with the wide mouth opening, they are easier for me to get my fingers in there and grab some tobacco as apposed to pouring some out of the skinny jars.
I have yet to notice difference in the aging of the tobaccos in both types of jars.
