Given the onslaught of Tobacco-geddon...as a very casual smoker I've opted to purchase a variety of blends while I can. I cannot claim to be a great purveyor of tobacco knowledge, history, etc. so I thought I would just try some things that "called my name" to try. My goal is to make some modest purchases so I have a variety of things coming in.
Delivered yesterday - one tin each:

Boswell's Vanilla Creme

Dunhill - Early Morning Pipe

McClelland's - Black Parrot

McClelland's - Captain Cool
Puff on Pipe Family!

Just received a shipment yesterday here in Colombia. While not the exception it took almost three months to arrive.
Sutliff- Molto Dolce

Cult- Red Blood

Rattray- Bagpiper's Dream

Peterson- Irish Whisky

McClelland- Frog Morton

Dunhill- My Mixture BB1938

Sutliff- Z92 Vanilla Custard
A Stanwell Christmas 2003 also arrived.
My wife loved the smell of the Vanilla Custard when I opened the box. I also keep asking her opinion on how the tobaccos smell when I am smoking a different blend? So far, she says that they all smell good. So she is without a doubt a keeper.

Itstone: Just finished trying the Vanilla Custard and all I can say is "Wow!!!" This stuff not only smells great but taste is great also.
I'm new to pipe smoking, so I have been purchasing different varieties from non to aro tobaccos. Watching my wife sniffing the bag of Vanilla Custard last night was like watching a cat on catnip.

You may find that there's an inverse relationship to how good a tobacco smells and how it smokes! At least, a number of very experienced members here have so commented, and it seems to hold true here.

Jpmcwjr: Good comment

I can only go by my wife whom I have to live and sleep with on how the tobacco smells.
I have only tried the following:

Dunhill-Flake Medallions

Dunhill-Mixture 965

Presbyterian

Orlick- Dark Strong Kentucky

Two Friends- Bed & Breakfast

GLP- Abingdon
Thus far Vanilla Custard, Presbyterian and Mixture 965 are at the top of my list. I still have 50 other tins waiting that I need to try.
