I have a passing interest in astronomy and stellar phenomenon but they will do/say anything at this point to move the conversation away from the Epstein files.

Quick, tell them it has lights, tell them an asteroid might hit the earth or moon in 2032!

Eventually a life ending asteroid WILL hit earth. Many have over billions of years.
And not all can be detected ahead of time. "They" are soon going to launch satellites to fix this situation, but until then, anything coming from the direction of the sun cannot be tracked. AJ Gentile (The Why Files)recently made a video explaining it. Then I looked into it, and its all true. We may have just a few hours notice of a planet killer.
Personally, I dont want to know.
Fortunately humans were given the ability to pay attention to many things. Unfortunately, most do not.
Unless something concerns them directly, they dont care.

Planetary defense is the best justification for astronomers ever created!

The concept is for star gazing what sending Hemingway out with Tommy guns to chase Nazi subs was for literature.

I have sure and certain faith our Creator made every comet and supernova and black hole and distant galaxies without number.

And the more we look upwards at the heavens the better we understand we are all on this third planet from our star together.

If we do have a shot at killing an object that would kill us all, I want every schoolchild with a telescope on patrol, you know?
