Thank you! I quit 17 yrs ago so this is my new small collection after having a nice collection of handmade one of a kinds and some meers that were gorgeous. now all gone... Tim said he would make me another pipe that we could work out the design together, so that may be my last pipe other than another big Bacchus i have my eye on, but have to get some $ together.

Actually I wanted to add that Tim's pipe is a very small elegant Freehand. small bowl. I was surprised when i got it. Elegant and light. I love it. I used to have some Massive ones in the past; but this is very Zen and very subtle. It is a real beaut! Ergonomically perfect with whichever method of holding you use - left or right hand. What more can you ask!

Thanks so much for posting the pix of your pipes!

That Tim West is so fascinating -- kind of a paneled freehand; yet not, because of the contouring of the bowl.

I'll bet that it also appeals to the Lord Of The Rings crowd too. For me it brings back memories of the old Preben Holm freehands

from the Ben Wade era because of the way the shank expands from the bowl, ending with more plateau wood.

Nice stuff to look at and drool over. :puffy:

it is an eight panel freehand.
Length: 5.50 in / 14.0 cm

Bowl Height: 1.85 in / 4.7 cm

Bowl Width: 1.65 in / 4.2 cm

Chamber Diameter: 0.70 in / 1.7 cm

Chamber Depth: 1.38 in / 3.5 cm

Weight: 1.59 oz / 45 grams

Bowl Material: Briar

Stem Material: Ebonite - Black
A darting freehand design with an interesting smooth panel finish on the bowl and shank of the pipe.  The pipe is very lightweight and is effortlessly balanced from the stem.
hope this helps. When I saw it I just had to have it! Thanks Guys!

First of all I apologize: not trying to keep this thread open. the Tim West pipe is THE best pipe I ever owned or smoked in my 35 years or so of pipe smoking. had a bowl yesterday and now as I type and it is the nicest easiest drawing/smoking pipe ever. It makes/lets you slow down to enjoy the tobacco unlike any pipe I have ever smoked. It is literally indescribable. And with someone with a Ph.D. to lack words to describe it - that says something. This pipe is pure Zen and Nirvana in all sense of the terms.
DAMN!!!
will have another bowl and a sip of Glenfiddich.

Wizard: I hope you will not be offended if I make some suggestions about photography. Use a tripod when shooting close up. The smallest movement is magnified by being closer. If you don't have one, rest the camera on a table or something. Use a macro or closeup lens for pipes. Regular lenses are not meant to focus that close. With a macro lens you will be able to get closer and not include so much of the table. Set your lens at f11 or f16. The bigger the f number the more focus you will get from front to back of the subject.

p.s. i tried to take and upload a few pics of the best that was available to share. But I guess I am learning that i probably should not have even started this thread. that is the bane of forums and online internet B.S.. I probably should stay clear of posting any longer. thanks for your comments. See ya!
