Lonetree: I remember your pipe, it is very unusual. One of the Castello guys on the SmokersForums was interesred. I'm no Castello expert, but never saw another straw tube pipe.
Cajun: they smoke great, typically very well drilled. Very open draw, a tight pack is required.

I stopped at Wingenroth's today in PA, a favorite shop. Mel, the owner immediately offered me $200 for the pipe than a trade on a straight Collection grade Castello bulldog. Collection pipes are around $500 new, it was tempting. And a Tsuge Ikibana (or something!) that he had marked at $550... I said no for now.

At one time I owned 7 Castello's and they all smoked great. They are extremely well made and I never had an issue mechanically.I loved the fact they were open because they smoked nice and dry. I was pretty much an idiot for selling mine. I just looked back at all 7 pics and am shaking my head.
