I was looking at another GBD to replace my recently departed Dunhill Cumberland and chanced upon this Sea Rock that was on Ebay. I have a Sea Rock #65 an really loved this shape. The G size grade is a little larger than my 4k #65 (Bent Billiard). I put in a relatively low bid and was surprised to win $30 under my max.

The pipe arrived today from Texas. I'm quite pleased. As the seller advertised, it does appear to have been "lovingly smoked" and is in near mint condition. I gave them a quick polish, the bowl a light ream and soak in Everclear/Sea Salt than a Halycon hand wax. I'll be enjoying this one this evening. Despite the G size, the shape does allow me to carry this in my single pipe bag. I have some MM965 packed for the break in when temps cool down later today...

Great looking pipe. When you soak it in everclear and sea salt, how much sea salt do you use and how long do you soak it for. I have never tried that, I always just use everclear to clean them but have never soaked a pipe. All the estates I have bought except one have all come cleaned and sanitized and from very good sellers. I will always run everclear soaked pipe cleaners through it to see if they are clean.

Typically I soak for several hours. I make sure some sale/everclear gets into the shank and use a plug to keep it full. The previous own.er said he smoked only English tobacco, which is what I smoke. So, I only gave this one two hours. I'm smoking it now, no ghosts. I do need to make a retort soon.

They are very nice Al. I picked up a Sea Rock group 3 dated about 1985, It had a straw inner tube in the stem. Do yours have this feature? I am planning to sell it since it is an unsmoked billiard.
