Great deal for Dunny fans. You guys who smoke a good deal of this how does it compare to the Murray era stuff?

Yo seado - I puffed pre-Murray back in the 60s, and I've been pleased with the Orlik renditions. The (Light) Flake is surprisingly close, despite the vast different in age. 965 is lighter, but still rich and complex. I like the current EMP and Mellow (Mild) Standard more, but Nightcap isn't quite the same - but still a fave. Interestingly, the current Aperitif and Durbar are brighter and more to my taste - my hoarded 10-15 YO tins are diminished, likely due to their age.

I recently started pipe smoking and the first bowl of Nightcap (my first taste of tinned tobacco) was, as I wrote in my Introductory post here, exquisite. I like it better than Durbar, the other Dunhill mix I've tried. I'm going to take advantage of the smokingpipes sale and order more Nightcap, plus a few others. Is Nightcap the most Latakia strong of the Dunhill blends?

I just lit up a 50/50 mix of Nightcap and Durbar. Tasty!

I had just finished doing the taxes, which left me owing much less then I had budgeted, when I saw this sale.
Overbudgeting and a 25% sale on Dunhill are made for each other, and my birthday is at the end of the month. Is that enough to feed my tad for this month (probally not, one can never have enough Dunhill Flake, never..). :)

I haven't tried all the blends yet, but I really enjoy that smokey taste from EMP and want more of that. Would Durbar and Nightcap be good choices?

I'm so glad this deal was for four tins! That's the max I feel comfortable ordering from the states at a given time and most deals I've seen recently have been for 5 or more tins. I picked up my mixture, aperitif, standard mixture and de luxe navy rolls. All new to me so I'm excited to give them a try!

I had thought I would order one of each mixture, but my cart is sitting here with Royal Yacht, London Mixture, My Mixture 965, and two tins of Nightcap, for Dunhill. Reading the descriptions and reviews for the others don't get me interested. I've already tried Durbar and Nightcap. The other tin in the cart is Barling's 1812 Tradition. I really like Nightcap and am looking for heavy Latakia blends, and none of the other Dunhills sound like they are heavier/stronger than Nightcap.
