FWIW, the bags That I sent are 3.5x5", same size as what we were using from the start, but they have a pleat in the bottom that will allow the bag to hold mo'. How good the zip seal is...time will tell, but they will be much better than sandwich baggies. Regular old Ziploc baggies leak moisture, air and flavor. Especially bad with aros. Really, really bad with Lakelands! That's how the box got ghosted with Ennerdale. I also got some of the better quality bags, but they are 4x6. Is that too big to fit into this new box format? If not, I'll send some along.

Woodsroad - The pleated 3.5x5's you sent have a great zip seal so far. Airtight. There are quite a few larger bags of various types, and they are holding their own for now. The way the box is set up, it will hold just about any sized bag in the right configuration. Your 4x6's would fit, but there is no need to deplete your bag stash as there are currently PLENTY of bags for the task at hand, and then some. You really hooked us up with enough baggies. :) Some of the old mylar bags have a crappy zip seal and those are the ones I'm switching out. There are a few larger ziplocks that have a great seal and I'll leave those be for now. Ziplocks just tend to be inconsistent with the airtight properties and the ones in the box right now are winners. YAY! No Ennerdale smell, so something is going right. :)
Thanks for the list Shanelktown! :)
Peace!!

Friday, January 20th is shipping day.
Holy Cow ladies and gentlemen. On this 4th day (3 and a half technically) of sampling, I have tried 17 tobaccos so far. I've tried to be conservative, but, I have selfishly rubbed out an entire flake of SG Bothy Flake and am still attempting to finish it amid a couple other half-smoked smaller bowls. I've also smoked two smaller bowls of Condor, Russ's Fire Storm, Drucquer's Red Lion and Edward G. Robinson. Those 4 are the most outstanding blends so far. All others have been modest bowls as I intend to get as many samples in me as possible and that certainly cannot be done if I'm packing huge bowls of stuff. Whew! No spins yet! :)
Bosun Cut Plug made me realize I love Lakeland essence blends. Give me Grandma's soap, bathmat and perfume! I may even eat your Grandma's shorts! Wonderful as it is, I'll be glad to send this box onward since I am seeing many more cats in the house than I actually own. I hadn't realized how much I cut down on smoking until now. I can do this!

Tinsel- Happy Birthday to you as well. I'll be 47. I'm celebrating with some ten year Glenmorangie, lots of chocolate and as much excellent tobacco as I can cram in.
I'm not in a nicotine coma, but a haze of some kind. The cats in the house keep multiplying. I see them out of the corners of my eyes, but I KNOW there are only three. I suspect the problem is I have some blood in my nicotine stream. I'll see about correcting it right now. Just had Pirate's Alley, so Cabbie's Mixture sounds right.
Bon appetit !!

I'm gonna shoot for mailing the box out tomorrow afternoon. But it might be Monday at the latest. Address for the next victim, Dcrguns, would be appreciated.

Update: Just mailed it out. 8 lbs 3 ozs of glory. They asked me about insurance and I had a brain fart, figured better safe than sorry and insured for $500.00 having NO idea of actual value. It only cost 6 more bucks. However, it has to be signed for. Sorry, DCR. You should see it in 3 (business?) days.

I got some tobacco into new bags, the rest of the bags are in the box. I put all the tinned tobacco into bags. I never finished off the smallest bags. I also never did an inventory, sorry. Someone cut the lid nearly clean off and I re-enforced it pretty good with pink unicorn duck tape. Do NOT cut the pink unicorn tape!! Only cut the priority mail tape to open. This sucker is bulging now. I included G&H sweet coconut twist, match hickory and D&R three sails. This was amazing and wonderful. Thanks folks !! :)

Box has landed here safe. I will get into it in depth later. Lots here to digest! I will prioritize which samples I want to try first. Two week should put it leaving me on Feb. 7th.

Just a heads up: Don't bother insuring The Box. If the post office loses it, you would never be able to collect on it. Having filed several claims over the years on lost camera equipment, for which I had receipts and photos of the box contents, and for which they refused to pay the real value until my congresscritter sent a letter, I will promise you that they would never, ever pay out on baggies of pipe tobacco.

That is good to know. Thanks for the heads up.
