I'm so sorry to hear how rough it's been for you, pal. But this weight issue, for diabetics, is crucial. Counting calories sucks and it annoys me tremendously how few we actually need everyday to sustain life. (Truth be told, nobody needs ice cream every day but once you hit your weight goal and the diabetes is managed a child's cone once every couple of weeks really tastes spectacular!)
Your CES can prevent challenges in the physical activity arena but your doctor should be able to help you find a therapist who can work on a plan for you. Walking in well visited stores with wide aisles is perfect for you. Just pace yourself, okay?
It's good to see you posting and if you need some pipe projects to work on, please let me know. I can send several your way.
Here's to a strong finish in 2014 and an infinitely better 2015, friend.

Thank you the well wishes and concern, my friend. I'm trying to make sure I do things right, so as to not cause anymore problems; the good Lord knows I'm full up in that area at this time! LOL. And thanks for your kind offer. I think I have a few to keep me busy but will holler if I'm wrong. :puffy:
Al and Jason, I appreciate your thoughts and concern, too. It's good to be back among friends!

Greg, it's good to see you back...your pipe smoking family always has your back...now that you have a name to your beast (diabetes) you are one more step closer to defeating it. I wish you all the beast, and just remember this beast can, and has been defeated and you can do it as well...

Well, things have been swinging downward of late - my blood glucose level I mean. But it's gone from way too high to way too low! After having an average of near 400 for my sugar level, I have been fighting keeping it above a safe number the last two weeks. I accidentally realized that I was being overmedicated. So, I decided to eliminate one of my medicines on Sunday to see how things go. So far, this seems to be a very good call on my part; I am now, albeit for only 2 1/2 days, getting into and staying at normal, safe numbers.
If you are interested, I have added a few new posts on my blog. You can read them HERE. Thank you all again for the encouragement, feedback, and support. Sweet smokes my brothers and sisters of the briar!
