I know it's been a while since the show but with summer winding down and fall just around the corner I am very busy with outdoor activities. Autumn is my favorite season I've been riding my bicycles and motorcycle and also picking tomatoes in the garden and other various tasks around the house getting ready for winter. Finally today I had some spare time to wax and buff the Dunhill Lovat I picked up this year at the show in Columbus.

Even though this pipe is 18 years old it was in pretty good shape cosmetically. The overall finish was dull and matte in appearance and just a few minutes with a buff of carnauba wax had the pipe gleaming in the afternoon sun.

The chamber was another story. The pipes previous owner had allowed quite a "V" shaped chamber to develop and I used my reamer to carefully reduce the thickness of the cake in the lower half of the bowl. I've still not smoked the pipe yet but soon the time will come.

A buddy of mine just won a 1961 Dunhill ,in great condition, for less than $100.
Good deals are out there. Patience is the name of the game. I paid $145 for this Dunhill. I thought it a fair deal.

Thanks guys!
I read on the forum here a while back that buying estate Dunhills was a great value and the way to go. I have to agree. Last night I put some FVF in the pipe and it worked great.
