WOW Thanks Kevin for such an in depth report. Being unable to attend this was the next best thing. After this great review I bet that next years show will be a priority for many more collectors/enthusiasts.

The Kansas City Pipe Show gets better every year. You're right about Mike McNeil, I spent over 30 minutes talking with him and it's a truly unique experience.

Ha ha ha kcvet67! Mike is a pisser, but you've gotta love him. In contrast, Mary is the exact opposite, and she will frequently have this "Oh my!" look after Mike goes off. It's fun and endearing.
This show is really worth attending for anyone that can afford it. It's really a bargain with not only the amazing time you spend there, but also the friendships and memories that last beyond the weekend.

On this Independence Day weekend; it's great to see the wonderful people and things that happen in what the politcos call "Fly Over Country".

Thanks Kevin that was a great report on a bit of Americana.

And... Thanks for letting us live vicariously through your exposition. (pardon the double entendre')

She's a real sweethart to deal with. I know the look you mean, I think of it as "Here we go again!"
An interesting bit of trivia: I mentioned that his Blakeney's Best series was one of my favorites and he went on at length saying the choice of names was the worst mistake he ever made, if he'd put the McClelland name on it he'd sell 5 times as much. When he was young, the movie "The Scarlet Pimpernel" was one of his favorites. The series was named in honor of Sir Percy Blakeney, the title character.

I love the Blakeney's Best series too, and heard the same story. They should just re-issue it. It's not like that hasn't been done before.
