Two more days until I fly out to Kansas City! Woo hoo! Can't wait. I'm going to smoke my brains out and eat Kansas City Barbeque. Mmmm.
But if anybody else wants to come with me, this moment will be the ground floor of something real and fun and inspiring and true in this godforsaken business and we will do it together! Who's coming with me besides... "Flipper" here?

Fellas, I've got about 100 estate pipes cleaned up and ready to sell at the KC show.

Everything from $3 corncobs, to an unsmoked David Jones you could kill a drifter with... and EVERYTHING in between.

I've discovered that I absolutely LOVE matching up a person with the perfect pipe that they enjoy smoking. It's a great feeling.
The ones I'm especially proud of to sell this weekend:

-an UNSMOKED late 1960's Stanwell Prestige freehand--this was Stanwell's most expensive line at the time.

-a HUGE Ardor Giove Pick-axe w/ amazing grain.

-a pre-Republic Peterson Shamrock Bulldog

-a bamboo-cased pair of Savinelli Linea 76's that are barely smoked

-a sweet little bent-volcano Stanwell HandMade nosewarmer-sitter that is UNSMOKED and pristine.

-LOTS of vintage Savinelli's, GBD's and Comoy's pipes for around $30
I can't wait.
I'll be at the Viking Pipe Club of St. Louis table.

Wishing I could be there to enjoy the festivities, but unfortunately commitments prevent attending. I'm sure y'all will have a great time and I look forward to some pics and reports on the forum after the weekend. I am friendly with Quinton Wells, one of the organizers of the show and one of the most enthusiastic and talented pipe makers in the USA. this fellow is a driving force in our pipe community and a nicer man you will be hard to find. Make sure to introduce yourself to Quint, you will be impressed.

Wish I could make the show just to drool over Nathan's pipes and see how he likes his Danish Hobbit pipe. Didn't work out for me.
