2011 Kansas City Pipe and Tobacco Show

I just booked my flights for the 2011 Kansas City Pipe and Tobacco Show.
This will be my first time there, and it looks like they have a great event planned.

Ok guys, beg, borrow or steal to get there. I hear it's an excellent show and we want to do everything we can to support the pipe hobby. The Kansas City Club does a lot to do so, so let's support them.

The KC Show likes to put the emphasis on North American carvers and there will be a number of them in attendance. This year's carving contest will be a panel pipe. At least 25 carvers have agreed to submit pipes to this event. Last year's volcano's were a spectacular success. Most of the pipes not in the winning set were sold by show's end.

On Friday night Jeff Gracik will be giving a pipe carving demonstration.

I think I received official permission to attend this show. I may even try to sell there. I need to find out how much their table fees are.

I'm just emerging from a 4-day depression from missing the Chicago show.

There will be a lot going at this show. There will be BBQ Buffet on Friday night and a Banquet on Saturday night. There will be a large number of prizes given a way through out the show. There will be about ten pipes in the grand raffle and silent auction. You do not have to be present to win the grand raffle or a silent auction.
The seven winners of the carvers contest will be mounted in a beautiful case and raffled off in the Carver's Auction. This is a one winner take all raffle. If you cannot attend the show but would like to purchase some raffle tickets you can contact me. Once again you do not have to be present to win.
After the BBQ Friday night Jeff Gracik will be doing a carving demonstration.
