Anyone ever smoke 2 at once? I mean swapping between 2 to keep the smoke cool instead of 1 slow?

If I recall correctly Hawky does this fairly often. Think he would mix and match so the blends played off eachother, like one English the other a Virginia or something. Maybe if he's still here he'll jump in and clarify.
If overheating is a problem you are probably not doing something quite right. Pack correctly, smoke normally and it should be a cool smoke. I have to work hard to overheat a pipe and, I've been known to smoke while running a chain saw, playing golf, hiking with a load of camera gear, etc. Why complicate a great bowl of tobacco. Start right! Pack it well.
A pipe will get warm from smoking generally, the rule of thumb is to let the pipe cool off if it is so hot you can't comfortably hold it against your cheek.

Never needed to, my pipes are at most only slightly warm to the touch but usually cool.

Nah man, I'm portly myself. I've just always thought it was funny to refer to them as pork chops, instead of mutton chops.
He breathes through his pipe though, nearly every breath. There's way better instructions right here at Pipesmagazine.
Y'all hatin'. Don't be a jive turkey.....Muttonchop's cadence is so cool, he exhales frost. He has to stay rotund 'cause when he smokes, he's ice cold. His rhythm has been shown to reduce global warming. ??
All joking aside, I like him. I don't see an issue with his style but this site is definitely a great resource for any beginner to hone their skill.
