Been meaning to make a post about these two briar acquisitions for a little while, but i've been busy here lately. I bought these directly through Jason on FB and the experience was nothing short of perfect, just as i suspected. I cannot sing Jason's praises enough, both as a person and a pipe maker. The shape #55 pipe (which J dubbed "the double nickel") was going to be a personal pipe for J, but i managed to get him to part with it somehow. The other pipe is my first warden and it smokes just like the rest of his pipes...flawlessly. He is a very reasonable seller as well and gave me a very fair deal on both the burners.
I now own 4 Briar Bird's and these without a doubt will not be my last. J, you've got a customer for life and i truly appreciate what you do and the wonderful customer service you provide. You're a good dude, my brother! I look forward to more of your pipes in the future!
J posts wayyyy more of his creations on instagram and fb, so if any of you guys are interested in one of his pipes then check those two as well as his website. Just a FYI, and i have no affiliation with him financially. I just want to get his name out there as much as i can so other brothers of the briar can experience a high quality beautiful hand made pipe at a VERY affordable price.
Thanks again, J!

Because it's not that hard to do a simple google search. Here's how it works; you open a web browser, go to a search engine, then type "briar bird pipes" into the search field. Next scroll down using your mouse or the arrows on the right hand side of the screen and select his "FarceBook" or "InsterGram" account. This will take you right where you need to be, my friend.
Does that make it easy enough for you, newbie? 8)

Gigger, yeah i just forgot and i have no problem posting the links, but seriously if people are that lazy that they cannot do a simple google search then i'm not sure they would even be able to operate PayPal or any other electronic funds service to pay for the pipes.
I just cannot stand 99.9% of "newbie's" posts and the way he comes across. I think his real name must be RICHARD, and yes, with all caps. I've held my tongue on many threads where he has posted, but not on my thread, Jack. Lol.
Oh and thanks, Tim! Hope all is well with you and yours, brother!

Don't worry the Richards of the site never last. I've been around long enough to know.
That being said, had a question about his churchwarden stems. Are they hand cut? I ask from a pipe makers inquisitiveness. I make my own stems and willl be attempting my first church warden stem at the beginning of the new year. Can you post a pic of the button? Either way both pipes look very nice. I love the cumberland type stem on the black one. Is it vulcanite? Or Acrylic?

Just a really wild and crazy thought and idea but if your trying to get people to notice him and you mention his website, FarceBook and his InsterGram stuff why not also just post the links to them as well. That way people can just mash on them and be taken right to them instead of having to search for them? Like I said just a wild and crazy thought and idea.
Jeez... is THIS too difficult for you newbie?
Once again it would seem as though you can’t bring yourself to making a post without including some negative comment.

shaintiques, haha yeah i believe it and i don't take anything personally or get all butt hurt when i read something i don't agree with or even find offensive, but it seems like every post i read from that guy is either sarcastic, condescending or just going against the grain to stir up the pot. I could be wrong, but whatever, just my opinion. He did have a valid point, but sarcasm begets sarcasm.
Anyways, i will post a pic of the button as soon as i can. I actually asked J before i bought the pipes the same question and the warden's stem is not hand cut and is made of vulcanite. The bowl is entirely hand made and blasted, though. The stem feels great as well as the button, and the pipe is very light and a great clencher.
The black #55's stem is also vulcanite/ebonite. That one is extremely light, so much so that you barely notice it's there. The draw is wide open on them both as well.
That's awesome you make your own stems, please keep us updated on the warden stem when you get around to it. I actually need some repair work done on a Briar Works Elliot Nachwalter tenon that broke off in the mortise. Not sure if you do stem repair, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I'd like to keep the original stem and just replace the tenon as it was made in the 70's and is in great condition besides the tenon, but not sure if it's possible. If not, a new stem will have to suffice.

I actually haven't gotten around to tenon repair yet but it is on my list. I normally cut a fat tenon out of whatever I am using for rod stock.

Ahhh, i see, very nice. Let me know when you take the plunge. I know there are other options of stem repair out there, but i just haven't gotten around to it and i have plenty of other pipe's to keep me company in the meantime. Plus, i'd much rather give my money to an outstanding individual such as yourself, whom i know a bit more about personally (as much as one can via the internet/forums), than a random pipe repair shop/person with whom i have no prior affiliation.
