Wow!
The funny thing that I notice is that even thought the posters are made with relatively low techniques and simple graphic, the overall tone is just screaming for QUALITY, QUALITY, QUALITY !
I mean look at gorgeous diamond shank at the first page,

The 1005 on second page, then that "Radio" 694 third page, and others!!
Seriously, MM should bring several of those beautiful cobs and hickory pipes back into market and I guarantee that MM will gain a much greater market share.
Awesome!

Yep. It would be nice to see them still making some of those. I know I'd like to have a few.

It seems like they used to have quite a bit more going on and I really think they could rock the market with a revival of some of the older models. I have quite a few and honestly they were much higher quality back in the day. Of course they still provide a great product but they seem to have simplified quite a bit.

One thing to keep in mind - In 1955 they had probably a dozen other companies competing with them. They HAD to make the best pipes to stay on top. By the 1990's they were the last company still making cob pipes, they had outlasted and bought up all the competition and there was no rivalry to drive innovation. Couple that with the decline in pipe smoking and the focus switched to mass producing low cost products.

I have my fingers crossed with the direction MM is starting to take, but I think its a really long shot to expect the quality of pipes they made in the 1940's and 1950's.

I used to have a corncob with a diamond stem like a bent bulldog, which I had purchased in the seventies. All the cobs I have now are straight stems. I would love to see M&M bring back some of their classic shapes. Maybe with the resurgence of pipe popularity, they will bring back some of these old styles. My sons love their cobs too!

Im not a fan of cobs, but I have a strong appreciation when somebody posts old pipe related literature.
