1923 Dunhill P10 --- Sandblast From Another World (Restored & Re-Stemmed)

Dunhill Made the "P" model for many years. I have no idea what the "10" means in this case. (Baker Street Irregulars, that's your cue )

The pipe had a funky replacement stem, some rim hammering, and was mega-grungy. Thankfully the stamping and chamber were both in excellent shape.

I've seen only a handful of pipes in my life with this sort of mutant grain, but never one that was blasted so deeply while retaining detail.

Incredible looking. I agree with ssjones, I wish this pipe could talk. Just think...this pipe saw both world wars, the wide spread development of electricity autos and airplanes. All this time and it survived intact, amazing.

That's a gorgeous blast. And a superb restoration (even without the before photos, it looks almost like new!).

BTW, how do you handle a sandblasted rim, especially if it's "mega-grungy"? Does it require refinishing -- i.e. stain, shellac, etc.?

Really, really nice. I have had a few blocks sandblast with that kind of crazy swirling grain, but never that depth or detail as you said. Stunning piece.

10 out of 10. A classic pipe that looks like it went to a bunch of Dead shows. That's one of the coolest pipes I've ever seen.
