Have been enjoying the forum. It's a wealth of information and most appreciated.
I'm a collector of old stuff. Various things. Pipes are one of those things that I like to have. They are beautiful little objects. But, it's time to thin the herd in a big way.
I have about 25 or so pipes I am going to clean, buff up, package up nice and send them over to @jjmitchem at an APO. I can do that easy enough. These are pipes that I have bought for me at various auctions. They should be good for many many long afternoons in the shade. The thought of them being used to help someone unwind makes my happy.
As an American, my respect of the military increases every single day our guys and gals are over there. The amount of time they have been at it, in the field, is Historic. It's going on 2 decades of war and the troops are still efficiently doing their job.
Anyway, here's what I am asking. I want to put a nice supply of sampling tobaccos along with the pipes. I am going to donate some poundage (I have some really nice Heinrich #2 and #4 Cru, some ropes etc). If I send 20 packages @ 100gm per package that's about 5 pounds of product I would need to include. I will repackage inside food grade resealable that should hold 25 grams each. So 4 samples would go along with the pipe.
If anyone has EXTRA loose that they want to donate please PM me I will get it all packaged up and sent out. I don't think that tinned is the way to go here, and don't mess around if you don't have plenty. Anything extra or leftover is going to get put in the package to be distributed. I am 100% that I will receive way too many requests to donate, so please do not be offended if I don't respond. It just means that I have too much already.
I have been wanting to do this for a year and this forum put me in touch with the right folks. It's most appreciated!

Sounds like I have pipe cleaners and maybe even a few tampers donated thanks to orobusto. Something I didn't even think about that they will need.
Trying to make this so they can get a few weeks of use out of it before they have to do a thing other than relax with a smoke. So any suggestions are appreciated.

I dont really have anything to donate unfortunately however I think this is a great project! I would change the title though so it gets more exposure, people might pass this post by and not know the good thing you are doing here. :puffy:

Thanks, no worries about not having anything to donate. This as a group project...so feel free to take all the credit. :)

Thanks all, I have half of the tobacco committed by a nice few along with some cleaners + other equipment.

I still need about 2 pounds if anyone want to jump in.
As I'm packing this stuff up, slices are for sure the way to go for compact transport.
Also, if anyone knows where I could get inexpensive pipe tools bulk (I need 25-50) it would be appreciated.
