If you wait to stock your cellar, the tins you pay 9.00 for today, will be 25 in a few years. So look at it like every tin you buy, you are saving 14.00.
Harris, you don't by chance use an abacus, do you?

but next to Peck I still feel like a piker.
Ha ha . . . I am still finding blends that I like - will it ever end? I recently placed an order with Rich and got 25 tins of about 20 different tobaccos, just to try stuff that I never have. And guess what? I've stumbled upon a few more that I like, namely, Tudor Castle and 1776. Good stuff.

I must admit that I'm puzzeled. I've not commented on any thread regarding 'cellaring' because I have trouble actually committing to any one tobacco.
I don't refer to my "cellar" as my supply of those blends which I plan to smoke until doomsday, I refer to my cellar as my entire stash. So, I have 10 pounds total, and the bulk of that is in variety, not focus. I have a couple blends that I have a pound of because I got a good deal or liked it....but the remaining 8 pounds is a widespread variety...3-4 tins of this or that. I definitely have several blends that I',m not nuts about so I'm just letting them age for awhile (see: OGS, Three Nuns, Capstan Blue).
Okay so just for fun I figured it out. At my current rate of smoking, an 80 pound cellar should get me to at least an age where others have to pack my pipe for me. You know like Peck or Harris' age.
So 70 more pounds. Since I tend to like nice stuff, I'll figure $60/pound. That might even be a little high depending on which blend I'm talking about. But I digress.
$4,200 and I'm done!

WHOA! Harris is way older than me. I'm only 44. Harris is retired and living in Floreeeda. He goes for dinner every day at 4pm, just after the daily lawn bowling tournament wraps up.

By the way, out of the above blends, I have only tried Tudor Castle, 1776 and Black Frigate. I will pass on Black Frigate. The other two are good, though. I plan on trying the others through the holidays - Pat and Brian are coming out to pay a visit just after Christmas, so we may try a few new blends there. This is all very dangerous, since if I find one I like enough to cellar, it becomes an expensive proposition. I wish I was a wealthy Floridian plutocrat like Harris.

I usually buy 5 tins of something I really like each order, 2-3 tins of stuff I like to keep on hand, at least 16 oz of a bulk, and about 5 new tins of different tobacco's I've never tried.
Peck that Tudor castle is one of my absolute favorites. It tastes fantastic with a nice ale like Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout.

LOL, I guess my math was a little off, duh.
Peck, I will have you know I am the shuffleboard king of my development, they all cower in fear when I show up with my black socks and sandals.
You new list of tobacco now makes me realize, you have serious issues my friend. I kind of had a feeling you had a problem with the first 420 odd pounds you bought considering your rate of consumption, but now you have proven beyond any shadow of a doubt, you have the worst case of TAD I have ever witnessed. I bet you cannot go a single day without ordering tobacco from someone can you? If you ever stop buying, 4noggins and SP will have to begin laying off workers.

47 pounds ... 150 pounds ... impressive. I have a few pounds. A number of unopened tins, and an unopened can,

and some canning jars holding steady.
