No worries at all Foggy. I genuinely appreciate your input and stains can be an issue. My Petersons had stain in the stem and they were an absolute b*tch to break in.

Got to say, 6, not a fan of straights or rusticated, but this finish and stain does look beautiful!

Congrats numbersix! That is a beauty. Nice clean bowl of virgin briar. Looks like it would smoke pretty good to me. My only grumble about the Italian pipes is that most of them are huge. Like mrenglish I've come to prefer a medium to small sized bowl.
