I was going through a desk drawer the other day and I found a baggie labeled '1 Q ' that I bought a couple months ago, smoked a few bowls of and then forgot about. It sure does smell good and has a great flavor. I can see why it's so popular. I prefer tobaccos with more of a punch but when I finish this baggie, I'll probably get more to have on hand to change things up. It was a bit dry so more than a few pieces ended up in my mouth. It doesn't taste too bad in it's solid form either.

Its probably the most popular blend in the USA. We had a thread last year about how many names there are for 1Q and I think we had over 40.

I got mine from from one of my semi-local B&M where they sell Lane bulk re-packaged but not re-named. It was the last 2 oz bag they had and I haven't seen it since.

Reichenbach: interesting. I have never been in a B&M that carries bulk pipe tobacco that did not have 1-Q. It's a staple.

1Q is a staple in my diet as it is dependably a good smoke while I am trying over-priced tins. I also like M1 by Altadis as it has a little fuller taste but is still an easy smoke. Always pleasant even if they are not stimulating.

I thought 1Q was pretty good myself I will definately keep some around.I just tried it for the first time recently and it was a pretty smooth cool smoke in one of my meer pipes.I didn't even let it dry and only had to light it once.

I have a couple pounds on hand now. It's inexpensive, makes for a smooth smoke and has a great room note. It's as popular as it is for a reason.

@ Mick; I think I didn't explain myself very well. When I said I haven't seen it since, I meant that they have a hard time keeping it in stock. The lady that worked there said it was very popular and they always have other Lane bulk blends in stock. It's really the one of the last B & M's here in the Hudson Valley as far as pipes are concerned so if this is the last place you can walk in and buy Lane, it would make sense. It's on Main Street in Rhinebeck, NY and is called, conveniently,The Rhinebeck Smoke Shoppe.
