Well, we have a lack of natural intelligence, so artificial intelligence will have to do. We invent powerful technologies whose effect we cannot begin to fathom.
What made the the world wide web commercially possible? People humping. Porn. Funded by groups of suicidal dentists. Playing hide the salami. That's where it all starts.
Now we have a marketplace for everything, from toiletries to assassination.
And we have a marketplace of ideas, much of it fabricated rumor that is accepted uncritically, pretty much like a dark age village. Add AI to that marketplace and people won't know what hit them, only that something did.

Miss Charlotte was a former cheerleader and runner up Miss Missouri and we wondered, how she lost.
She was married to the school Superintendent who was a decorated Korean War hero.
Back then schoolteachers didn’t chase seventh grade boys.
We all had to read and give book reports on Extraordinary Delusions and the Madness of Crowds, and The True Believer, and Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.
She also had a hand out of the Twenty Fallacies of Logic.
We had to construct and deconstruct all the fallacies in class.
The beauty of that system was my father was President of the school board and all his church buddies made up the rest of the board and Miss Charlotte was sleeping with the Superintendent.
Meanwhile my own mother was teaching seventh grade in other schools, such as Wheatland and Fair Play.
When the dairy industry was in full bloom in Southwest Missouri there was the tax base and base of public support to have outrageously good looking, young, competent seventh grade teachers, each one with a wooden paddle in her desk she was not afraid to use.
Now Humansville looks about like an asteroid air bust over it.
Well, except for the brand new public library, the storybook looking Christian Church, and the brand new school, which was paid for by cannabis taxes.
Governor Mike Parson, Wheatland High 1973, has a farm with a Humansville address.
If you want your kids to have an excellent public education, it costs a lot of money to pay a Miss Charlotte grade teacher.
