Mike, Are you Canadian? Out of all the countries in the world, Canada feels the closest of all the countries to the US- English speaking neighbor that the US was practically united with before 1776, shared mountain ranges and coasts, etc. Canadian accent is often unnoticeable for me or at least feels comparable to US accents. I visited Canada a bunch of times on trips and it has practically felt like home since I'm from the northeast US.
