I would be interested in hearing the thoughts of anyone here who may have indulged in a Drew Estate cigar. Even though I am primarily a pipe smoker, for the past few months I have bee going to a weekly “meet-and- greet” at a cigar shop. It has been a helluva lot of fun and with no close pipe group near me, it has given me a place to go for enjoyable, friendly conversation and enjoyment of tobacco in a group setting.

All weeks up to this past one, I chose an Arturo Fuente cigar to indulge in as I am not knowledgeable about cigars, but knew tha A-F would be nice. This past week, however, I decided to throw caution to the wind and simply picked a cigar that seemed interesting….. being in this case a shade grown tobacco ( lighter color ) and it was a relatively larger gauge than I had been indulging in heretofore. Hah, also the band was mildly interesting to me as it was monochrome black, white, & grey.

Never having heard of “Drew Estate” cigars I had no idea what the hell it would be like. I was happily surprised in that it had a lot of flavor, smoked very cool, and even had a gentle sweet aspect to the smoke. I was so pleased I smoked this cigar down into well into the last 1/5 of the cigar. It remained very pleasant, strangely perhaps even more pleasant in that last 1/5th of the cigar. Overall a good experience for me.

Again, I’d like to hear any other folk’s thoughts on this brand. It was an unexpected joy for me.

I haven’t had a bad cigar yet other than an Acid cigar. I threw the small Acid cigarillo pack I purchased into the trash after I tried to make myself smoke them. Make sure you understand what you’re getting into when it comes to Drew Estate Acid cigars.

I’ve had three other version that I like very much. Muwat was interesting. I was also pleasantly surprised by their Candella factory smokes.

From what I read online is many praise Drew Estate for the great draw and smoke volume most all Drew Estates have.

I feel their factory smokes you can get online is a tremendous value.

I like them, especially the MUWAT Kentucky ones and the now discontinued (I think) Larutan line. I guess serious cigar people would turn their nose up at these, but I am a pleb who loves Toscanos and prefer them to any Cohiba or Montecristo I ever had.

I haven't had one I didn't like, and their overall production includes my favorite "value" cigar in the Factory Smokes and my favorite "higher end" cigar in the Liga Privada #9.

Arturo Fuentes are rock solid. It was the AF Hemingway Short Story that opened my eyes to cigars. To this day I still keep at least a dozen in my humidor because it's such a pleasant smoke that can be enjoyed in a short sitting.

Drew Estates are great. They have a million sub-brands that are enjoyable. Others have listed many. Here's my experiences:

Isla Del Sol and Tabak are two of my favorites (both are flavored). Both are infused with Sumatra bean coffee (they make 2 versions, a Sun Grown and a Maduro. I like the Sun Grown). Isla used a Sumatra wrapper with Nicaraguan leaf and Sumatran bean coffee. Tabak uses an Ecuadorean wrapper with Nicaraguan leaf and Nicaraguan coffee. There is a subtle difference but it's there. To me, Tabak has a stronger coffee taste where Isla is more subtle and has other non-coffee flavors running through it.

Deadwood Tobacco Co is also Drew Estate. DTC cigars have maduro wrappers with exotic and aromatic tobaccos. These are very direct cigars with no subtlety. Strong, heavy smokes. I wasn't a fan of Crazy Alice. Sweet Jane was alright. Haven't tried Fat Bottomed Betty yet. I wouldn't recommend DTC as daily/regular smokes unless you find one that your palate falls in love with.

Kentucky FIre Cured MUWAT are a good occasional smokes when you're in the mood. It's very smokey to me. AJ Fernandez makes a latakia based cigar named the Spectre which is pretty smokey. The MUWAT is far more smokey than the Spectre.

After Isla Del Sol, the Undercrown brand is probably my favorite DE cigar. I like the maduros better than the connecticuts. Solid smoke that I always have a few of in my humidor.

The Acid line is a nice change of place with unique flavors. I had a Blondie and a Kuba Kuba which I liked.

Minor experience with Liga Privada (had a few No. 9s which were great).

No experience with Herrera Esteli but have heard good things.

Liga Privada T52 is one of the best cigars there is.

Most of their line is very good. Even if a particular cigar doesn't suit me I can still say it's a quality product.

Their Java is flavored and exceptional as well.

Enjoy the Undercrown maduro fairly often. I'd also agree with @shanez on the T52, heck any Liga Privada. Great cigars. Herrera Esteli products are good, too. :)

Side note: Back in the day i was able to procure a couple pre-release Liga Privada No.9s. Still have one rolling around in the humi somewhere. This thread served as a good reminder. May have to dig that sucker out this winter and see how it compares to a modern version.

They make a bunch of different cigars. I like some of them, but don't like some of them. Which ones were you interested in?
I am trying to find the wrapper, which must list the specific on I had. I only saw the one style at the shop. If I cannot find it, I will look next week for the specific type. The band, which I still have, does not say anything specific.

I have never been a fan of flavored cigars and though I have smoked several of the Acid line I wasn't a fan.
I did enjoy their Natural line, and I have smoked a few of their other lines but it has been so long ago I don't really remember much about them.
