Thanks for all the helpful hints and constructive criticisms. As suggested, I contacted smokingpipes.com and they were more than happy to replace the defective pipe. I will be looking to add a cob and some other less expensive pipes to the rotation. I am starting to get a feel for tobacco types...- madman
