    AI Generated Art

It is truly amazing what computers are capable of now. You can type a description of what you want and the artificial intelligence engine will generate what you asked for. It actually generates it, it's not just picking out what you want from existing images.

    Sanding an Old Friend

This is my first pipe. It's stamped "Italy" on the bottom of the shank with no other markings. I picked it out of a basket at a Tinder Box 24 years ago. It has immense sentimental value and smokes as good as any pipe I've had. It is starting to show the wear and tear of time and use however...

    Getting Ready for Fall.

Title edited for caps. Please read rule 9. I usually smoke during the fall and winter and stop in the spring and summer. Got my first order coming in to prepare for the coming fall! I've had the Three Nuns and quite like it. The other two I've never tried. Regards, Mike

Clever or Stupid? Drying My Pipe.

I only have one pipe at the moment so if I want to have more than one fill a day I place the pipe upside down on the top of my PC which has a huge fan venting the warm air. Is this going to damage my pipe? The fans are pretty large but slow (700 rpm).

    Peterson of Dublin

Well, the last time I was in Ireland, I didn't have time to visit Peterson of Dublin, so I am going back. From what I can tell they have moved to a new location. I am flying into Dublin tonight and will arrive there in the morning. Anyone want to grab a pint while I am there?

    Stanley Thermos

Howdy folks, bet you thought I was gone for good. Down but not out, had to give up smoking for a while as I have been trying to kick a respiratory infection. In other news I was on the hunt for a thermos today and I remembered my dad's old Stanley. That thing would keep coffee hot for a whole...

    Foodsaver

I think I have the perfect cellaring tool and didn't even think about it till now. I bought my wife a food saver for Christmas one year and the canning attachment with it. We have various sizes of ball jars as well as the food saver bags. One time I put a half of an avocado in a jar and vacuum...

    PAD is calling my name.

Anyone here bidding on this? I don't want to snipe it from a fellow member.

    Ye Olde Sleepe Patterns.

I have been reading of how humans used to have much different circadian rhythms in pre industrial times. I find this idea of four hours of sleep, then one or two hours in a quiet wakefulness, then 4 hours sleep very intriguing. It wasn't until artificial lighting became prevalent that we went...

    Smoking Weather

As I am not allowed to smoke inside, I must contend with the weather whatever that may be. I have to say that mid to late fall is my favorite time to smoke. I am greatly looking forward to a time when this summer humidity isn't collecting in my bowl. What is your favorite season to smoke?

    Planning a trip to Dublin

I was there in 2009 for my honeymoon but it totally slipped my mind to stop by Peterson's. My wife is a flight attendant so I am planning a trip back just to go to Peterson's. Any other suggestions while I am there?

    My first pipe.

I started pipesmoking in college back in the late 90's. I went to a tinder box because I didn't know any better and just looke through the seconds they had there. It has been a faithful friend since then. I didn't buy more pipes until 2005 when my delayed PAD hit hard. I had a few pipes for...
