What Cigar are You Smoking? 2024

Hoyo de Monterey Rothschild. Today's morning cigar in my home office, before heading to me real office! Inexpensive and quite nice (mild) for starting the day.

Where Did the High End Kaywoodies Go?

There was a time you could just ask your local Kaywoodie dealer about the latest available grains 😃

    Hello from San Francisco

Thanks! There's also a Cigar Loft in San Mateo (I've been meaning to drop in there as a cigar smoker, even before taking up the pipe again). Do you know if it's the same owner? San Mateo is definitely closer.

    In Support of B&M's

Thanks! It's definitely tough finding it here. Tobacco products are not allowed to be sold in drug stores (ordinance was passed 10 or so years ago, on the basis that any place that sells drugs is a "place of health," although that doesn't seem to affect their ability to sell booze!). Hello from San Francisco

Grabbed some GL Pease Maltese Falcon and some MacBaren Golden Extra from a local shop the other day - been enjoying both! In Support of B&M's

That price sounds a bit crazy, but I find most B&M stores try to be within a reasonable range. The other day, having just taken up pipe smoking again, I stopped by California Tobacco Center here in SF and picked up a 2 oz. tin of G.L Pease Maltese Falcon and a 3.5 oz tin of Mac Baren Golden...

    Show Us Your Savinelli Pipes!

I bought this Porto Cervo some time in the early '00s from the Jim Mate Pipe Shop here in San Francisco. Sadly they closed some time in the '00s as well. It's starting to show some oxidation on the stem (a bit dull and brownish), so I need to study up on how to fix that.

    Show Off Your Kaywoodie Pipes

Bought this "Prima" prince new in 2009. I think maybe it was part of the Gold series. It's a solid smoker.

    Hello from San Francisco

I've been an on-and-off pipe smoker since my college days ('80s), and am taking it up yet again after about a 5 year hiatus. On most days I smoke cigars. Looking forward to learning more about blends from this forum and mixing things up a bit more this time around - my past forays have mostly...
