I just ordered a tin of the Sinfonia flake. So we’ll see how that goes when it comes in.

***What Are You Smoking, February 2024?***

G.L.Pease Quiet Nights with the pupper. First time trying the fold and stuff with the flakes. Got a cantankerous start but it’s going great now.

It smokes really well. No ghosting of any flavor or aroma that I can tell. It certainly smells like a pipe that’s been smoked, just nothing unpleasant emanating from it. Will be partaking of it again this evening with some Quiet Nights.

For a Pipe that looks to be made in 1949, it’s in really exceptional shape. It’s a great smoker too! It kinda makes me curious if to $70US was a deal or not. lol. So far it’s been a great investment!

Thank you and to sobrbiker as well. It’s definitely an O and I see the rampant lion. Not sure what the 3rd character is and what it represents.

I'm actually not familiar with the markings or their meanings, but am aware that they do mean something. I tried to get the clearest images to show the detail of those Hallmarks though.

Just acquired this beauty 2 weeks ago as an estate pipe. And while I am still fairly new to pipe smoking, I find this to smoke beautifully. Some limited Research on this has indicated that it could've been made between 1949 (When they added the silver to the mounts) to 1962 (when the English...

Yeah, mines a German Shepard. He doesn’t mind the cold, but those negative temps didn’t go over well with him.

Ryan said: Hello from another central Indiana Hoosier, beautiful weather we have been having, huh? Sorry….. some technical issues last night…. Yes Ryan, the weather has been quite beautiful. Too cold to play in much, though. It’s kept my pup and I inside the warm house more. Hard to train...

    Looking for my Grandfathers Tobacco

Starting to sound like I may have to go out and buy a pouch of any of these I’m able to find. Do they still produce the Prince Albert vanilla cherry?

    Looking for my Grandfathers Tobacco

I’ve noticed that as I’ve begun the dive into pipes and the history on these forums and other pipe related articles. It’s very interesting.

    Looking for my Grandfathers Tobacco

Was this a normal thing for pipe smokers 40+ years ago? I wouldn’t have thought that. He did grow up in the Great Depression though. So storing stock may have been a thing.

    Looking for my Grandfathers Tobacco

Can’t rule out that possibility, but it wasn’t bust just a few months ago I encountered that odor that took me back to those childhood times.

    Looking for my Grandfathers Tobacco

Hey all, I was hoping to narrow down some possible choices in my search for my grandfathers pipe tobacco. As a child, I remember spending time with my grandfather when he would be sitting in his old wing chair smoking a pipe. Short story long…. In the past 30 years, I’ve only encountered the...

    Greetings from Central Indiana

I’ve actually gotten pretty decent at the pipe packing. Mostly… at least for the tobaccos I currently have on tap. I’ve been getting the best results by filling from the palm of my hand with the bowl upside down “swirling” the tobacco in. My cadence has gotten much slower with the limited...
