    Hedge Building in Great Britain

This is something that not one in 100 will find of interest, but I found it fascinating AND it has something to do with pipes. The video below is an old vintage reel from 1942 and it is displaying the art/science of building the hedges that they use to separate fields and pastures and that...

    Tobacco Sandwich

Damn...... y'all make this pipe smoking thing complicated.

    What Defines a Codger?

I just spit coffee all over myself...................... Hilarious!

    MARXMAN Pipes, anyone?

That is a low down thing for the seller to do..... I would note his misrepresentation on eBay. I once bought a pipe there and when I received it there was a horrendous crack. I immediately messaged him with pictures, and he had the gaul to say that "hmmmm, don't know what could have happened...

    Dedicated Pipes

I respect your straightforward answer. I can agree with you about filters. I have no use for them. Take care......

    Dedicated Pipes

Nice collection. Gotta respect someone with this commitment to dedicated pipes. I'm curious that there are no cobs which are good about not ghosting. May I ask why they are absent? thx.

    MARXMAN Pipes, anyone?

I went to my two Marxman pipes and the Captain is marked with France. The billiard, however says Italy. So, I suppose both are Mastercraft and post '54 manufacture. But, both smoke wonderfully....... "C'est la vie"

    Are Windcaps Over?

Man, that is a beautiful room for smoking a pipe. Lots of wood, high ceilings, a fireplace. Once you lite up, all you'd need is Norman Rockwell to set up his easel and paint your portrait.

    Are Windcaps Over?

This is the best way to approach these things. I have a couple that work in a "half-assed" manner. They are better than a sharp stick in the eye, but they are far from perfect. It's not much of an investment.

    Are Windcaps Over?

Thanks for the quick reply.... Yes, it is a great looking pipe and she's right.... it is "Christmasy." Thanks again.....

***What Are You Smoking, December 2024?***

Gord, that Kimchi sounds kinda tasty. Tell me.... does the cabbage go through a fermenting process somewhat like it does in the making of sauerkraut??

Just had some Capstan Blue in a newly acquired Barling 5276. Very nice, indeed.

    The Virtue of Dry?

Yeah, the climate of the area makes a huge difference. I have to really stay on top of my humidor during the winter when the air is dryer. But, during the summer it is more forgiving.

What are You Watching? [2024] Please Rate 1-5

You got this right. When I was a kid and Wizard of Oz came on, I would plan for days to watch it. Back then it came on one time per year (as I remember it) and I would plan and prepare for watching it. Then..... when it was over, I was bummed out and sad for days cause I knew it would be a...

    The Virtue of Dry?

Ouch..... Cosmic, I don't see how you and Funk can smoke dry cigars..... For me they fray at the ends and burn unevenly. I don't like them too wet either but I want them around 68 - 70%, slightly firm and with a good draw. While we are at it, do you prefer a maduro, natural or more of a...

    Corn Cob Experience

Well, I gotta ask, in those nine years have you added any more cobs to the herd??

    MARXMAN Pipes, anyone?

Thanks, Scopes. That is the age range I have been thinking, too.
