Breaking in an Uncoated New Pipe
I've owned multiple pipes over the past 15 years and I have never experienced charring or damage to the pipe. I've also never used a coating, like honey. I usually take half of a tin-sized flake, fold it in half, and then fold it in half again. I then place it in the palm of my hand.
