    CI and PayPal: WTF?

Thompson Cigar is another peddler that is notorious for signing its customers up for "Cigar of the Month" clubs and BS like that.

Losing Flavor Halfway Through the Bowl

For me, clenching usually leads to heat. If I can keep the pipe in my hand, rather than in my mouth, I generally smoke slower. Kind of like setting your beer down between sips. Also, I don't obsess with getting the entire bowl burning. Especially with flakes, I will often get a small tunnel...

Good Way to Prepare GH flakes?

It's definitely not needed for thin flakes like Peterson and Stokkebye, but for the thicker GH and SG flakes it really works the trick. If you think about it, the grinder is designed to process an incredible sticky bud into smokeable condition. I find that, despite the small size of the...

Good Way to Prepare GH flakes?

    Gravity fill with no packing.

Good Way to Prepare GH flakes?

FVF for me tends to get rock hard if I dry it before rubbing out. Even cute cuts gave me hard pellets. Try the grinder, I think you'll be pleased.

Good Way to Prepare GH flakes?

I need to experiment with cube cut a little more. Last time I did that with FVF the nuggets were flame proof!

Good Way to Prepare GH flakes?

Reviving this conversation with myself: The grinder seems to me the best of all options. I grind it fully from the rubbery flakes with no drying time. Now, here's the key: gravity fill, tap the bowl, and do not tamp. This is much what @georged said when I first posted this: "gravity fill the...

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

Are the burleys in Pegasus and Haunted Bookshop cased? I have three kinds of C&D Burley (Dark, White, and Ribbon Cut) and would like to make a Pegasus-like blend.

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

Jeez, most cigars cost $10 now. It's ridiculous. God Bless whoever kept The Man's sticky tax fingers off of pipe tobacco.

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

After smoking Virginias like mad all year I am circling back around to burleys as fall sets in. Could one mix Pegasus from C&D Burley Ribbon and White Burley? Or is there a casing they add to these before blending? I've got plenty of aged VA and BC.

    9mm Charcoal Filter Brand Comparisons

They are too tight for the stock stems, which is why you should order a handful of the Danish bits which come standard on the Let Freedom Ring and Diplomat. The Danish bits fit a 6mm charcoal filter perfectly and also hold a rubber pipe bit perfectly. Def worth a few dollars for the upgrade...

    Give Me A Recommendation…

Take your favorite English and add a bit of good black Cavendish. Boom, done. Bob's Chocolate Flake is pretty much the bomb but is quite light on the latakia, under 10%. English Luxury is another good one, very smooth, sweet, probably closer to 20% latakia.

    Smoking a Pipe with GERD/Reflux

I have struggled with heartburn for years, constantly chewing Tums, etc. On our recent trip to the UK I decided to take emaprazole every day so I didn't have to fight reflux on vacation. Zero heartburn on the trip, and none since my return even though I stopped taking it ten days ago. Happy times!

Easy to Find Esoterica During this last Drop?

I was actually in Margate, England two weeks ago. It looks like a town where everyone has given up. Very sad. I think they pick all the homeless up off the streets of London and give them a ticket to Margate!

    Birmingham Alabama Visit

Dang I was in B-ham a few months ago, I had no idea about that shop. Would have loved to pop in and spend some cash.

Edward's Pipe Smoking Pamphlet Circa 1965

We had several Edward's Pipe and Tobacco shops around Atlanta back in the 90s. There was one close to me in Clarkston and, unfortunately, I was a cigar knucklehead and walked right past all the delicious pipe tobaccos for years. I wish I had made some photos of those shops back then, it would be...

Did you have any trouble breaking that in? Mine tasted like the stain for the first 15 bowls.

SP Doesn't Do Extra Pictures Anymore?

I actually love that they keep them listed because people will list pipes with crappy photos and a quick search will usually show a couple of similar pipes that have gone through SmokingPipes' estates, with crisp, clean photos for comparison.
