Some easy-going non-aromatics that won’t knock your socks off with nicotine would be:
PS 301 Natural Dutch Cavendish
Rattrays Old Gowrie
C&D Pegasus
Another great tobacco, which is technically an aromatic, is Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic. It sort of bridges the gap between non-aromatic and...
I was the one who made the post about Savinelli Punto Oro pipes.
Had they gone up a mere 20%, I likely wouldn’t have even posted. They went from $209 to $331.91 (each price with a 5% SP discount). This is a 59% increase in price.
Peterson pipes also had a 10%-15% price increase on SP a...
Before AI, I wasn't the best writer or anything, but I could get by. Now, thanks to hard work, dedication, and Chat GPT, I just graduated with a doctorate from Stanford University. I am also mentally retarded.
I would just replace the fittings, clean it out, and light it up. The stem is acrylic so I wouldn't use alcohol on it. Just use a dull knife or a Czech tool scooper to gently scrape out any cake.
Yeah I’ve done this many times, but I usually remember what was in the pipe. I’m only ever smoking a few blends at a time so it’s easy to narrow things down. If I pop a tin, I smoke through it before popping another one.
Most pipe tobaccos are cased in some form and the line between aromatic and non-aromatic can blur with certain blends, at least in my opinion.
As someone that came to pipe smoking by way of cigarettes, I tend to smoke non-aromatic blends. My wife much prefers the room notes of non-aromatic...
Thanks man. It’s the only pipe that I own that my wife has ever felt compelled to hold and inspect because she thought it looked so cool.
This is the same pipe in Dec 2023 around when I first got it.
I broke in a new Savinelli second yesterday. It’s unstamped other than the Savinelli logo on the underside. It has a vulcanite stem and it’s clearly the 626 shape, which happens to be my favorite.
Considering the millions of people in the western world that have shifted from tailor-made cigarettes to RYO due to taxes, I’m sure the RYO crowd is larger than the pipe-smoking crowd by an order of magnitude.
Congratulations, Jesse. You are in a wonderful place to enjoy retirement in Ashland. I've read bits and pieces on the forum about things that you've worked on and it is an incredibly impressive resume.
Here's to many more quiet nights with blue wisps of smoke lazily rising up from a Barling as...
It sounds like you’re stranded alone with a lady that you’ve realized is unpredictable. I would get the heck outta there ASAP for your safety.
I know hitchhiking isn’t as culturally acceptable in the south as it is out west, but I think it’s to that point for you.
Just thank your lucky stars...
If I'm not mistaken, Savinelli currently has the single largest store of unfinished briar blocks on planet Earth.
My money is on artificial scarcity to drive up demand and charge more for a premium product. Supply on their other lines seem to be keeping up just fine.
Another unlikely...
