    The Peterson is filterless, and although it's been a few years since I owned another Savinelli I believe this one is as well. Here's a shot of the tenon, the airway is about the diameter I remember the airway on those 6mm to 3mm Sav filter adapters (for filter models) being.

    Try "dry vinyl tape", it's the same thing. It'll still do weird things to your algorithm if you end up buying it on Amazon, though.

    This is the right answer. I bought a roll of the stuff on Amazon for $6 or $7 that will last for years. A few wraps around the bit of my clay (plus a few thinner wraps for a faux button) and it's very comfortable to clench.

    You might try a meerschaum as there's no risk of burnout on a windy day, although the already recommended windcap would certainly help. If you combine the two you could probably smoke while skydiving without any problem.
