Smoking Regulations in Italy
No online tobacco buying in Italy (not even from inside the country or from inside the EU) ... you can only buy "physically" in state authorized shops. Not far from Milan you have "Tabaccheria Dubini", it's located in Chiasso Switzerland but it is without doubt the best tobacco shop in the area...- ghingo

Show Me Pipe Rack / Storage Options
I keep my pipes in a wooden wine box. I like to keep them in a closed dark place, fist because I don't care much for cold pipe smell ... and second because, in my experience, vulcanite does not turn green/yellow if kept away from light.- ghingo

The rustication tool I ysed is just a few sharpened nails glued together with some scrap piece of wood. The dye is black alcohol based aniline: I applied five or six coats with a pipe cleaner then I brushed with a dremel tool equipped with brass brush: this gave the wood some shine. The next... -

Legal to Mail Tobacco to Myself?
Here in Italy shipment of tobacco is illegal, period. You can't buy tobacco online, you can't mail tobacco to a friend, you can't receive tobacco by mail: there is a state monopoly on tobacco. It is actually considered - depending on quantities - a criminal offense to mail tobacco (contraband).- ghingo

Any Savinelli Series 3 Owners?
Here's mine. In Italy we call them "grezze": unfinished. They all have some defect that prevents them to join Savinelli's main line of production. Those defects are of aesthetic nature so they smoke as well as their more refined counterparts. Here's the same pipe after I rusticated and stained...- ghingo
