    First Smoke Of The New Year

    Being a new year I tried something from the cellar. McClleand British Woods Reserve. It was a good smoke although I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't pounding brews with family and friends. Ill smoke it again tomorrow for sure.

    Nice! I always check the dates on tins. Most of the time they are relativley new but I have found some just over a year old.

    I just collect what I like and what looks good to me. You really wont know what style or sytem you'll like until you taken a few shots in the dark. And higher price never means a better smoke. Some of my favorites are the ones I paid under 50 bucks for. It just comes down to your preference...

    If you sign up for a membership with NASPC you get a newsletter in the mail about every month or two thats about 20 pages. It has some really good article in it. I reccomend it. Edit - I didn't see that docgarr beat me to mentioning NASPC. +1 to his post.

    Usually a dark beer for me when smoking. Although I had some Sam Adams summer ale the other day with a GLP english flake and it went well with it too.
