Does Anyone Have a Contact for Tsuge or a Japanese Pipe Expert?

Hi Everyone, I have a question about a “Tsuge” pipe from the 70s. It is marked Tsuge and also marked with the name of another artisan from Europe. I am trying to find out if this artisan carved pipes for Tsuge, or if he just licensed his shapes to them for factory pipes. Because the shape is...

Had to Evacuate From Fire Zone - I Took Tobacco

Title says it all. This week we are a Level 3 fire zone against the hills here in Orange County; mandatory evacuation with police knocking on doors and announcing evacuation orders over loudspeakers. I packed loads of McClelland and Esoterica and got it to safety at my mother-in-law’s house...

    My New Gert Holbek

Thanks. He was one of the original Danish carvers and his work is very unique.

    My New Gert Holbek

Hey, it’s been a while since I’ve been active on here. I recently got my first Gert Holbek and thought some of you might be a fan of his work. This one appears to be post-Pipe Dan era, when he was making pipes on his own. I love the shaping and blast on it and I am grateful to have it.

This Seller Wished Upon The Right Star (Disney Pipe Auction)

I think I may have started this craze last year by bidding something like $500 to make sure I won it. I got it for $402, and I was surprised it went that high. (I think they normally go for $200-$300.) I think mine might even be unsmoked, and it’s a Comoy’s. Then the next one that hit ebay this...

    L.A. Pipe Club

We have a pipe club called the Point Vicente Pipe Club based out of Torrance, but we haven’t met since Spring. @Lyon0op started it along with me. We met at Texas Loosey’s Torrance since they allow smoking, but that place practically burned down recently. On top of that, Lyon, has been on the...

    Peterson 2023 Christmas Pipe

What are the odds Peterson ever released one with an actual gold band? Maybe with some holly leaves etched in? I find it strange Dunhill would only do that on certain Christmas pipe years, while others were plain as could be.

Pipe Spotting—Tucker Carlson on his new Twitter (X) Show

Yeah, pretty cool. I think those pipes are always on the shelf in every episode

Two More Alden’s for the Stable

Alden is the man. I got my first one yesterday, delivered by Mr. Alden himself. It is a beauty, and the craftsmanship is next level. Enjoy your two new Aldens.

***What Are You Smoking, August 2023?***

Currently smoking Steamworks on my balcony in my Comoy’s 283, listening to jazz with coffee while looking at the mountains.

    New C&D Small Batch? Steamworks?

Alright, my tins were delivered from SP yesterday. I also opened my new old stock Ryan Alden @lonestar pipe that was delivered yesterday as well. I cracked a tin, took a big pinch, and let it dry for 20 minutes. I loaded up my Alden and began smoking my first bowl of Steamworks in my new...

Who Bought This Ryan Alden Estate On This Forum In 2020?

Can’t wait for it to get here, especially if it was your pick. This is a great story and shall go down in PipesMagazine lore.

Nice try, but that’s not what I said. Better luck next time.

Jim's C&D Steamworks (Small Batch) Review.

Ordered five. Can’t stand the tin art, but some of these small batch blends are good.

    Smoke Air Purifiers

The IQAir MultiGas is the best one, and the one I use indoors. Made specifically for smoke, and made in Switzerland. It can be pricey, though.

Where, oh Where, is the St. James Flake?

I’m not sure man. I bought a box of it in 2020 and jarred it up. I tried a bowl and it blew my mind. Seriously amazing stuff, but I like smoking Gawith on rainy or cold days (to make me feel British even though I have zero British blood), so it’ll have to wait until I dive back into that stash...

Where, oh Where, is the St. James Flake?

You should ask Rachel from Gawith Hoggarth. She posts on the Speak-Easy forums and was just yesterday arguing with someone there who was mad about their new tins.
