My first thought was carburetor, but that doesn't sound like what you are describing. Are all five pipes from the same source? I suspect you may want to find a new source for cheap pipes.- ryeguy

Smoking is an acquired taste--just like beer or whiskey. The first time you try them you are likely to only taste certain really strong and not necessarily pleasant flavors. Sweetest Non-Aromatic
If you are looking for natural sweetness I think a straight Cavendish is as sweet as you can get. I'm surprised by everyone going to straight Virginia, they are not nearly as sweet as Cavendish to my palate.- ryeguy

Does the FDA actually do that sort of policing? I know state level enforcement will set up stings for random retailers to check that they aren't selling to minors, but does the FDA do anything similar? Not to say that if I were a tobacconist I'd risk my livelyhood, but it just seems implausible...- ryeguy

I thought the regulations were the opposite: They were prohibited from giving away samples, but they could sell a very small quantity. I know I've been to tobacco shops with signs apologetically explaining that due to new regulations they must now charge for smoking a sample bowl of bulk...- ryeguy
