I Love This Pipe, But Who Made It?

Hard brand to track down. Didn't find anything of substance other than the company was around in the 60's. Whether it was dissolved or sold thereafter, and how long after, I don't know, but that's the only thing I could find. Pipephil didn't show anything for flagship or any combination of the...

New Clark Layton Strawberry Wood Pipe

Love how strawberry blasts. Great piece from Clark! @cigrmaster I have two strawberry wood pipes and they smoke just like briar, really, just lighter weight on the clench. If you like the blast, it's almost comparable except it's not as fire-resistant.

    Busy Weekend In The Shop...

Blast is definitely looking craggy. Button shaping looks nice, but if I may critique, I think your bite area needs to be a bit thinner. Maybe the whole stem, really, I like the taper, but it seems to be forming a parabola separate of the shank, like two distinct curves instead of one seamless...

My 7 day American Pipe Carvers Set

@guyrox Thanks! I'm proud of it.

Bruyere St. Claude Horn Stems At SPC

I see these selling like hotcakes. What's the draw, is it price point alone or are they known for being excellent pipes for the money?

    Dunhill Cumberland "Bulldog"

Never really liked any of the Dunhills I had, and this one is no exception. Just can't get into their quality/price point, especially in this case where I'm not fond of either the style or the price. As a billiard it would be fine.

My 7 day American Pipe Carvers Set

@peckinpahombre Yes indeed, it's one of his signature stemless bulldogs. Sent it back to smokingpipes for a little issue, but I'll be smoking it for the first time next week.

My 7 day American Pipe Carvers Set

@aldecaker Thanks! @kcghost Thanks, I wanted his dirigible shape for a very long time. Finally got lucky! @daveinlax It would be very cool but as of right now, it's not a "complete" set yet. The JnJ is very nice, but will be replaced. Nothing against those guys, but the others have more of a...

My 7 day American Pipe Carvers Set

@weedsnager It's spalted tamarind. @pylorns Yes, indeed. @jkrug Thanks so much!

My 7 day American Pipe Carvers Set

@dixie I started collecting pipes in December of 2013 and got the JnJ in early 2014. I guess you could say it started then, but the bulk of these pipes were acquired in 2015.

My 7 day American Pipe Carvers Set

Howdy! This is a pipe set I've been working on acquiring for a little while, finally got a few pipes and the stand to finish it off (for now). Here it is! From left to right: 1. Alex Florov 2. John and Jared (JnJ) 3. Jeff Gracik (J. Alan) 4. Todd M. Johnson 5. Ernie Markle 6. Adam Remington...

2016 is off to a great start!

As mentioned in a post on here about planning out your collection, I have a plan for mine. Collect, first and foremost, pipes from the best carvers in the US. I saw this pipe online (am I allowed to give out pipe retailers info on this forum?) and really loved it, even though it's out of line...

Does anyone else plan out their pipe collection?

I didn't at first, now I do. I'm hoping in the future to work my way around the world, but as an American, there's a whirlwind in pipe making artistry happening under my nose. I can't ignore it. My plan is to get one (or more) from all the best, talented, and/or coveted old guard carvers of the...

    PAD - Briarworks Calabash!

I've always admired the calabash, and yet never got around to buying a proper one. Perhaps the ones I wanted were far out of my price range or there was just always another shape I wanted a little more. And then came the Briarworks signature calabash, combining a high grade calabash design with...

Another Todd Johnson - Black Friday PAD

Well, I say another, but I'm intending to sell my other Todd Johnson as it never gets smoked. Here it is for those wondering: I don't mean to sell anything in pipe talk but if you are interested, you can comment. Onto the PAD: The one up top ^^^ is a 2009 ungraded cutty, and this one I just...

Finally Got My Hands on a Cannoy Suede Blast - PAD (Pic Heavy)

With everything else going on with this pipe, I forgot to even mention how enchanting this shape is to me. Just a simple, curvy brandy. Undisturbed by the blast.

Finally Got My Hands on a Cannoy Suede Blast - PAD (Pic Heavy)

I started the hobby in late 2013, and around then is when Walt's work was introduced to me on another forum. I browsed a bit, found the suede blasts, and immediately emailed him about a commission. Unfortunately, his commissions were closed at the time and I was seriously bummed. So for the past...
