    Italian vs English please educate.

I have been a lover of English middle to high grade oil cured pipes for quite some time. Probably 10 years or so. Once I get the British pipes I want I think I will look at Italy next. I don't know much about them but looking at brands such as Ser Jacopo, Don Carlos, Maestro De Paja, Castillo...

    Commision a pipe

A smooth Askwith custom would probably be in the 450 to 500 range. I know he and I are talking about a smooth bent bulldog and if he can do it would be 500. The bulldog is the hardest shape for him and the rhodesions the second. The only way to truly know is either chat with him on Facebook or...

    Commision a pipe

Might be hard in that budget. I would contact Ian Walker of northern briars in that price range. Chris Askwith would be my first choice but more expensive.

    Commision a pipe

Depends on the maker. When I see something I like I talk with a maker and show what I like and ask them to do their version of it. I don't ever expect a maker to copy someone's else work exactly.

    New Project for Homeless Vets

Man the prince Albert went quick. I have two tins left and I know a cigarette smoker that rolled his own that will probably want a tub. I truly appreciate all the donations. It has made my life here better being able to give to these guys. I don't keep any of it for myself as I have pleanty I...

    New Project for Homeless Vets

Got 5 boxes in today that had a varying amount of tobacco and pipes in. Half of it is gone already as well as all the briar pipes but one. It was a good day and a lot of people are thrilled. Got a whole case (6) tubs of prince Albert and only two tins are left. More and more guys are picking up...

Does anyone else plan out their pipe collection?

Well when I got back into pipe smoking in Dec of 2014 after a 4 year break I decided to work on a 7 day set of British Bent Bulldogs. I was going to focus on Dunhill 5108, Ashton, Ferndown, and Upshall. Unfortunately the 5108s are no longer made and I can't get an Upshall made like I want, so I...

Does anyone else plan out their pipe collection?

Thinking about and for the most part I have my purchases and collection of pipes planned out over the next few years. I talk with 4 different British carvers and pretty much every detail and when I get the pipes are planned. Unless iit is something that I find extraordinary or simply a deal I...

Chris Askwith Morta Straight Billiard Impressions

I love my askwith bent bulldog. It is Brian, but his skill as a carver is impressive, especially one so young and new. It will not be my last of his pipes.

    New Project for Homeless Vets

Btw this location houses 250 vets. Unfortunately not much privacy. Just moved I to a 3 man too. And is a huge improvement over the 6 man rooms.

    New Project for Homeless Vets

If you donate pipes please make sure they re cleaned and sanitized or new please. I have no way to thoroughly clean them as alcohol is not allowed. I have also received a donation through PayPal and it went to tobacco, cleaning supplies, and pipe tools. I truly appreciate this donation as much...

pipe finish question Dunhill vs Ferndown. please post pics.

Talking with Les Wood the other day he said his REO line is done how the Dunhill bruyere were back when he left Dunhill. I would love to see a REO pipe next to a dunhill bruyere and chestnut if possible. It has been so long since iI have had both together. I thought the bruyere had more plum but...
