    Meerschaum Sub-Forum?

I think sub forums are great to concentrate like information. I just don't like it where it is not open to the public. The fact that I had to create an account, have a minimum number of posts and request to be a member of the meer sub-forum on smokers forum is BS. I quit going there because of...

    Bowl Size and Composition ?

Look here.. The chamber depth listed is almost 2 inches. I have a pipe from this line and it is huge in comparison to my other pipes. I put the listing for the whole line of pipe here.. These are great pipes for the price. As big as they are I am still able to clench mine. Are you looking for a...

    Storage and Brand question

I store everything in the same way. Just keeps thing simple. With the OTCs they come in several different types of packages. If you get a pouch or box I would say jar it. If you get the big tub, I would just keep it in the tub. The counter to this is with the amount of humectant added to OTCs to...

    Sterlizing the Stem

plate... Definitely folow briarblues recomendations. I was a bit lazy in my reply. There is one point I wanted to make is there is really two points to this topic. 1) restoring a pipe 2) sterilizing a stem For restoring the techniques that briarblues and I listed are part of the process...

Early Christmas Gift: a New Storient

Wow Greg that is one hell of a wax job you did. It looks so deep in color it looks like the shape of the pipe changed. You even did the stem. WOW.

    Sterlizing the Stem

Household bleach is fine. I used to soak my stem in straight bleach. The only issue is it leaves a bit of a rough surface that takes a little longer to polish by hand. I now soak them in an Oxy clean bath. Does the same thing and is a little easier on the stem. If you are worried about straight...

Peterson De-Luxe Mix and Black Cavendish

Also, I started a thread not too long ago on the same subject. You can see by the lack of responses, at least with this crowd, it is not a popular blend. Obviously someone is smoking it as the have made it for a long time. http://pipesmagazine.com/forums/topic/petersons-de-luxe-misture

Peterson De-Luxe Mix and Black Cavendish

I have no problems keeping it lit right out of a fresh tin. It may help you out some if you try packing it differently. Deluxe MIxture has varried / larger pieces of tobacco that if packed too tightly will not burn. Also, drying it out on a paper towel for an hour or so before you light will...

Sale on SG Tins @ Smokingpipes

No Biggie. I won't black list you over it. 8) When I first got into the hobby a couple of years ago I price shopped all the vendors here and P&C was consistently the cheapest. Until recently, I have given them all of my business. I only changed because I started to see prices at smokingpipes...

    Sealing Ball Jars

I have not done the wax sealing you have described. I have put a full jar into the microwave for about 15 - 30 seconds and then put the lid on it quickly. This creates a vacuum that worked pretty well to me. In my experience, over time it seems that the longer a jar is sealed the harder it is...

Strange Issue With Pipemagazine And Browsers

I think it is a zoom issue or a cookie issue. I use chrome and if I zoom in trying to look at something up close on another website and them come to this site everything is out of proportion and I have to reset my zoom. Also, I have had issues with the cookies in the past and just had to clear...
