Today is the Saddest Day for Me.

I am a new member here...I do not know you....but I offer you my sincerest condolences. God spared you for a reason...take solace in the fact that He must have other plans for you. And He is now comforting your wife & son.... When my sad feelings surface, I remember the words of Sir Winston...

English blends with nice room note???

OK I just wanted to follow up on this post...... I have purchased several tobacco tins based on the responses here, and I have to say that I REALLY enjoyed the SG Grousemoor. I decided to try it first because the reviews intrigued me...some saying it was the best they ever had; some saying the...

    Any experience with Moretti pipes?

Considering adding a Moretti to my small italian stable. I like their shapes and have heard good things in general regarding Calabrian briar. I currently have a Savinelli autograph and a Castello. Any experiences? Thanks in advance

Please help me eliminate wet dottle.....

Thanks for the advice. I smoke English blends. But I do smoke outdoors....which means very high humidity in my area (East Coast). I'll try drying it out a bit, as suggested. It doesn't bother me much...I just dump & reload. But I just worry I'm not getting enough "cake" at the bottom of the...

Please help me eliminate wet dottle.....

I buy high quality pipes. I buy high quality tobacco. I pack lightly and smoke gently. Seems no matter what I do, I always wind up with a little (about 10- 20%) wet dottle at the bottom of the bowl. What's the secret? Or is this appropriate ? Thanks in advance....

    Your favorite English Blend?

didn't want to give the impression that I'm a Latakia nut.....I'm not looking for the STRONGEST English...just looking for a pleasant change from Margate. Actually,. I wouldn't mind something on the mellower, slightly sweeter side of the English blends. Thanks for all the responses. I'm taking...

    Your favorite English Blend?

Thanks for the responses. +1 for Penzance..I had that years ago. Problem is....I can't find any! I vaguely remember Frog Morton....I'll have to look up the others mentioned. Anyone have experience with the GL Pease blends?

    Your favorite English Blend?

I currently smoke Margate, and I haven't looked for a new blend in awhile. Looking for some of the forum's favorite blends. I typically smoke one or 2 bowls a day, usually in the evening so I prefer a more full bodied smoke. Thanks in advance... Ron
