***What Are You Smoking, September 2025?***

Graduated a plug of Salty Dogs from it's mason jar in the basement to a baggy. Letting it dry a tad and will enjoy in my Old German clay pipe (which are becoming pretty much a Missouri Meerschaum replacement for me).

***What Are You Smoking, September 2025?***

Newly acquired Brown Irish X in a cob. I'm not sure if it's the same or equivalent to Brown #4 that I liked back in the day. I do have an old tin of Brown #4, which is unusual. I was always used to buying a length of the rope. Anyone here know if it's pretty much the old Brown #4? It...

***What Are You Smoking, September 2025?***

SG Cob Plug in the first briar I ever bought (about 20 years ago). It's a Viking Classic, and I have no idea if those are made any more, but it smokes really well for a cheap briar.

SG Perfection in a clay pipe. I was intrigued by it's I like that it has a dog on the tin.

***What Are You Smoking, September 2025?***

I definitely remember it, but I don't think I've ever known the song or artist :/ Edit: Okay I googled it which doesn't count

"A friend(?) suggested that I shock you folks and have a day where I start off smoking something different than EGR I told him that I wouldn't be responsible for all the broken hearts. " In the event you actually do that, is there someone you recommend we contact that can check in on you? ;)

    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

I really enjoyed my first small bowl of it (in a clay). I haven't smoked a "straight" Virginia in a long time, and this reminded of how good they can be. It's got a tad of sweetness to it, which is to be expected from a Danish style tobacco. I imagine it will age quite well.

    Irish Flake new pipe smoker

You may want to give Rattray's Stirling Flake a try. It's very similar to Irish Flake (some say nearly the same). I find I like Stirling Flake a bit more than Irish Flake (now that Irish Flake changed hands some years back). Google Irish Flake vs Sterling Flake -- there's a lot of comparisons...

***What Are You Smoking, September 2025?***

SG Brown # 4 in a Nording Spruce (I think). It's been a long time but I finally opened one of my two tins of it (not sure it's still available bulk or tin). I remember a very fine local B&M tobacconist describing it to me as "like smoking a good roast beef" some 20 years ago. I still agree...

***What Are You Smoking, March 2025?***

Wilke Wall Street in a Nording Freehand, with a bit of bourbon on the side. I love that this blend is so satisfying and that it contains only burley and perique.

    Favorite Borderline Aromatics?

Two Friends' Homeward Bound is the only borderline aromatic I smoke fairly regularly. Burley, Virginia, and Cavendish, with a light topping I can't quite describe but is reminiscent of old codger blends. A rare 4-star from @JimInks persuaded me to try it.

Two Friend's Homeward Bound in a cob before starting dinner today.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2024?***

Listening to the game (Pirates) smoking Five Brothers in a Dagner poker cob with some Shiner Bock on the side (a beer I came to like when I lived in Texas for a few months for a military school).
